Jamaican Jerk Chicken

Jerk Chicken is one of Jamaica’s most iconic dishes, known for its bold, spicy flavor. The chicken is marinated in jerk seasoning, then grilled over hot coals until smoky, charred, and full of authentic island taste.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken pieces
  • 3 tbsp jerk seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Blend chicken pieces with jerk seasoning, salt, and black pepper until coated.
  2. Marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat grill over hot coals, about 5–7 inches from heat source.
  4. Grill for 40–45 minutes, turning frequently until cooked through and charred.

Tips and Serving

Serve with festival, bammy, or rice and peas. For extra spice, add more Scotch bonnet pepper to the marinade.
